The four Ds
The framework, in case you only remember one thing.
- DefineLabel every stage AI-expected, AI-permitted or AI-excluded.
- DetectCan the interviewer tell, in the room, whether they own it?
- DefendWould the decision stand up to being questioned?
- DiscernmentKnowing when the output is right. The other three rest on it.
The take-home. Pick one role, and one stage you labelled AI-permitted. Sit down with the person who runs that stage and ask them what AI can do there that a human can't, and where the line falls. The point is not to test them. It is to get them to say out loud what they have been judging silently, because that is the part you can write down, train someone on, and defend.
